Gang kills history sheeter in Chennai

CHENNAI: A six-member gang of men hacked a history sheeter to death at Iyyappanthangal on Friday night.
The victim has been identified as M Vinothkumar, 35, a history sheeter. He was riding on his bike when a gang on three different motorbikes surrounded him.
He managed to escape from their clutches. He abandoned his bike and took to his heels. The gang chased him. He ran into a house in Subramanya Nagar for safety cover, when the gang hacked him inside the house and fled the scene. The residents who were shell shocked alerted the police control room.
Police have launched a hunt for the gang members, who are still at large. Vinoth Kumar was a history sheeter involved in murder, attempt to murder and assault cases in Mangadu. Police said they suspect him to have been hacked to death over a previous enmity. They said they will be able to find out the motive only after establishing the identity of the accused.
