Betting on IPL matches: Duo arrested

Ludhiana: Ludhiana police have arrested two persons for betting on cricket matches, including IPL fixtures. The accused were identified as Om Prakash of Kitchlu Nagar and Abhishek of Joshi Nagar in Haibowal.
CIA-2 in-charge inspector Beant Juneja said a police team got a tip-off on the accused. As per the information, the accused had taken a house on rent in Prem Nagar area. Police officials said the accused were placing bets on the Ireland and Bangladesh Test match when they were arrested. They said police seized a laptop, four mobile phones and Rs 1.8 lakh from the accused. Juneja said the accused were booked under sections of Gambling Act and IPC. tnn
