100 test positive for Covid-19 in Rajasthan; 2 die in Kota & Baran

JAIPUR: Two persons died from Covid-19 on Thursday while 100 others tested positive for the virus in the state over the last 24 hours. The state reported the biggest single day spike of 100 cases in recent times, prompting the health department to make an appeal to the people to be cautious and follow Covid appropriate behaviour.
The deaths were reported from Kota and Baran. In two days, 161 persons were found infected by the virus. From 33 districts in the state, 17 have reported Covid cases. While Jaipur tops the list with 21 cases; Rajsamand reported 13; Jodhpur 10; Bikaner nine; Alwar, Udaipur and Chittorgarh seven each; and Pali six, among others.
57 undergoing treatment for Covid in Jaipur
In 24 hours, active cases increased from 233 to 294, an increase of 26%. In Jaipur, 57 persons are undergoing treatment for Covid, while in Udaipur it's 44, Jodhpur 32, and Rajsamand 29.
Thirty-seven persons have also recovered from the virus in 24 hours. Patients are recovering under home isolation, health department officials said, while warning people to take precautions from getting infected. CM Ashok Gehlot, former CM Vasundhara Raje, State Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra have tested positive.
