Ludhiana: In order to deal with the setback to their businesses due to the increasing imports of Chinese products, Fastener Manufacturers Association of India (FMAI) has now decided to start a special drive to help the local units boost their production and quality.
FMAI will now help the industrialists in acquiring new technology at optimum prices and take the benefit of several central government schemes.
FMAI president Narinder Bhamra informed, “Though FMAI has been frequently urging the departments concerned to increase anti-dumping duty on Chinese fasteners, but all our efforts have failed and we have now decided to take matters into our own hands and start a campaign to save our industry.
“The major change which can help us to counter the threat from China is to boost the productions and cut down our costs.”
FMAI will now start various workshops and seminars for the city’s fastener manufacturing units. tnn
