India hits out at Germany for RaGa comment

NEW DELHI: India on Thursday slammed Germany for its remarks on Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from Parliament. MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi was responding to a question on former US president Donald Trump’s indictment and used the opportunity to get back at Germany. “We noted the development earlier this week. This is a matter for US institutions and systems to address,” he said on the Trump issue.
“We see comments by foreign governments on developments in India. Germany is a recent example. Not sure what they seek to achieve with such comments. India is not waiting for their views or validation. Nor do such comments matter for the functioning of Indian systems and institutions,” he added.
Germany earlier had taken note of the court rulings against Rahul.
