NEW DELHI: Expressing anguish over the arrest of Bandi Sanjay Kumar,
BJP on Wednesday maintained that the party's campaign against the "corrupt" KCR government will be continued with same fervour and that the party cadres will not be intimidated by such arbitrary and unlawful actions of the state government.
BJP alleged that Sanjay has been arrested on "baseless" charges as part of the state government's diversionary tactics due to "leakage and package" allegations against BRS. "A large-scale resentment is prevalent against state government across state," said BJP general secretary (Telangana in charge) Tarun Chugh.
BJP's K Laxman linked Kumar's arrest to the party's agitation over the issue of the leak of question papers of competitive exams which have hit the future of millions of job-seekers in the state. Citing reports, Laxman claimed that besides the leak issue, the matter of the "package" has also hit the state government hard. The package, he alleged, is the reported offer by CM K Chandrashekar Rao that he has the package to finance a joint opposition campaign against BJP if he is elected as their chairperson. Laxman said if Kumar is not immediately released, then BJP will launch a state-wide campaign from Thursday. tnn
