E-Bikes and More welcomed by Blue Water Area, St. Clair chambers of commerce

Stormy weather could not stop E-Bikes and More from celebrating its grand opening on Wednesday evening.

At the event, E-Bikes and More was initiated into the Blue Water Area Chamber of Commerce and the St. Clair Chamber of Commerce. In addition to chamber members, the event was attended by St. Clair Mayor Bill Cedar and multiple members of the St. Clair County community.

"It's always nice to see new businesses coming into the area," Cedar said.

Owners Kevin Owens and Candy Tilley said they were excited for the ribbon cutting. They said they are thankful for the support the community has given them.

“I’m astonished and speechless,” Owens said. “We're so thankful for the people who came out and very excited to be here."

Tilley said the day was like a whirlwind. She said it's relieving to have had the grand opening go well.

Tilley said the business had also sent an invitation to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. Not only did they receive a response, but Tilley said Whitmer accepted the invitation. Unfortunately, she was unable to attend the event because of the storm and tornado watch on Wednesday.

Although Whitmer could not attend the grand opening, Tilley said her team asked to be sent another invitation for next event. They were also sent a certificate from Whitmer's office recognizing the business. Tilley said it was a huge honor to have been recognized by the governor.

“We didn’t expect a response, much less the invitation being accepted,” Tilley said.

Whitmer's office could not be reached for comment.

Kim Herndon, administrator for the St. Clair Chamber of Commerce, said E-Bikes and More will be a benefit for the local businesses and residents of St. Clair.

"The St. Clair Chamber of Commerce is very excited and thrilled that E-Bikes and More has chosen here to open its business," Herndon said.

Thelma Castillo, Blue Water Area Chamber of Commerce president, said she is excited the business also joined the Blue Water Area Chamber of Commerce. She said E-Bikes and More brings an exciting, new business to St. Clair County.
