LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said the youths were forced to fight for their rights in the past as there was corruption at every step of their recruitment but his government's transparent work mechanism has removed such obstructions.
"Right from assuming power in 2017, we worked with full commitment to empower the deserving youth. The transparency and honesty in our work mechanism have cleansed UP's tarnished image.
Earlier, youth had to fight for their rights. Today, without any discrimination or recommendations, candidates are being selected and recruited in a time-bound manner,” he said while handing over appointment letters to 795 successful candidates of the UP Public Service Commission and UP Subordinate Services Selection Commission on Wednesday.
Yogi said these youth were fortunate to get jobs under an ‘honest government’ and that they too should discharge their duties with the same honesty and dedication.
“Before 2017, the year
BJP came to power in UP, the youthof the state were forced to hold demonstrations and fight for their rights. Due to corruption in the recruitment process, some even committed suicide. Lists of appointments were made at someone’s home and undeserving people were appointed as chairpersons of various commissions,” the CM said.
Addressing the new recruits, who will be posted in 13 departments, he said whenBJP came to power every department had vacant posts. In the past six years, he said, his government had given more than 5.5 lakh government jobs while this year it has given appointment letters for 32,436 government jobs so far.
“We have completed the recruitment process of 1.64 lakh personnel in UP Police in the past six years,” the CM said. Saying that working in UP, the most populous state of the country, should be a matter of pride for any officer or personnel of the country, the CM gave the new recruits the example of several senior bureaucrats in UP who have been serving for 30-35 years, having been posted in various districts and departments.
