Banarasi Paan, Langda mango, Ramnagar Bhanta and Chandausi's adamchini chawal (rice) gets and GI tag in varanasi

The famous betel leaf from Benaras or the Benarsi paan as it is famously known has got the coveted GI tag, along with three other products from the Varanasi region which includes the famous langda mango. The Geographical Indicator tag signifies that products from a specific geographical region possess qualities that are due to that origin. In Uttar Pradesh, a total of 45 products boast of possessing the GI tag, out of which 22 are from the Varanasi region alone
