Volusia County man receives 35-year sentence for robbery and murder

A judge sentenced a Volusia County man to 35 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

On Tuesday, State Attorney R.J. Larizza called the sentence a “message to those who seek to resolve their differences with guns and bullets.”

On Sept. 18, 2020, Jordan Graham went to a Daytona Beach apartment to rob a victim’s boyfriend with three other people, according to a press release from the State Attorney’s Office.

One of Graham’s co-defendants, Jaquez Head, initiated the robbery and a fight broke out.

Graham, who was 18 then, shot and killed the 18-year-old victim.

Graham pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and robbery with a firearm.

In 2022, a jury found Head guilty of first-degree felony murder and sentenced him to two consecutive life sentences.
