MUMBAI: Western Railway has introduced the Yatri app for its passengers to check the real-time status of local trains. The app is already operational on Central Railway.
On the app, which was launched by WR general manager Ashok Kumar Misra at Churchgate station on Wednesday, passengers can get updates and announcements, the latest timetable, and maps of major stations and its amenities. WR chief PRO Sumit Thakur said passengers can use the app to find the nearest station on the map, type the source station and track the local train of their choice, so they can gauge how close or far they are from the train to plan to board. Users will also be able to track Mumbai Metro trains and BEST buses on the app. tnn
