Jaisalmer: Days after four people were detained in Barmer on suspicion of spying for Pakistani intelligence agencies, army personnel caught a JCB driver videographing the buildings at Jaislamer military station on Monday evening. Many videos and photographs of army buildings were found in his mobile phone and he was handed over to the police.
Sources said that the driver gave his name as Ashish Das, a native of West Bengal, and the contractor who employed him is also from West Bengal. According to information from police sources, construction work is going on at Jaisalmer military station and a large number of labourers from outside the state are working there. After the JCB driver was caught making videos of army premises, mobile phones of 70 labourers were checked. Police are probing if there are any Bangladeshis among the labourers and whether there are any ISI links. Everyone associated with the construction work has been forbidden from bringing smartphones to the army station, said sources.
