For the impending two years, everything north of Boston should anticipate a major improvement in off-season tourism.
Thanks to a $1 million grant to be declared at the later part this week in Salem.
To the Greater Merrimack Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau and North of Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism is giving out a grant of large sum of $1 million for travel expansion.
On Thursday, at the House of the Seven Gables, it will be the center of a grant declaration, an attraction all through the year with gardens blossoming before October.
For two years, the grant will cover up the expenses of marketing for the region. It would be ending on June 30th, 2025, as per NBCVB.
It will purposely aim on the campaigns related to marketing the region from November to April. It’s first of two seasons will begin this fall.
Some projects to be financed comprise would be for overnight travel and a lodging campaign is the ideal one for this.
Other efforts include a restaurant campaign; reach the niche segments of leisure travel along with markets for meetings, group tours, and events.
In a prepared statement, State Sen. Joan Lovely, D-Salem, said that tourism’s success is “vital” for the economy of Massachusetts and praised the visitors bureaus along with local chambers of commerce.
