Pune is expected to see cloudy skies with thunder and lightning mainly in the afternoon Thursday. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has also predicted light to very light rains in some parts of the city for the next few days.
On Wednesday, parts of the Pune district saw temperature soaring to touch the 40-degree Celsius mark. This, the IMD said, was typical of summer trends.
However, the good news is that a North-South convective system is expected to bring relief in form of rains and a gradual drop in maximum temperatures. Last month, a similar system had led to unseasonal rain which had negated heat wave-like conditions for most of the district and the country as a whole. The present system is expected to bring relief to Pune for the next few days.
Pune’s maximum temperature would be around 36.6 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature would be 18 degree Celsius.
