Corpn gets additional deputy commissioner

Coimbatore: K Sivakumar assumed charge as deputy commissioner of Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation on Wednesday.

Along with the allocation of an additional deputy commissioner, the department allocated additional officers in the rank of assistant executive engineers and assistant engineers. However, postings such as office assistants and sanitary supervisors were brought down.
Sivakumar was the Erode corporation commissioner before he was shifted to Coimbatore.
Corporation commissioner M Prathap said each DCs will look after the departments allocated to them. “This will improve the efficiency of the civic body. The order, delegating subjects to each DC, will be released soon,” he said.
