AgenciesMPhasis(up 0.3 per cent), Infosys(up 0.13 per cent), Persistent Systems(up 0.08 per cent), Tata Consultancy(up 0.08 per cent) and Wipro(up 0.01 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Coforge(down 1.12 per cent), HCL Technologies(down 0.96 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd(down 0.86 per cent), L&T Technology(down 0.42 per cent) and Tech Mahindra(down 0.34 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.16 per cent at 28930.25 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 41.45 points at 17598.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 157.85 points at 59847.16.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, BHEL, Suzlon Energy and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of DRS Dilip Roadlines, MCON Rasayan India, Chola Inv Finance, Ksolves India and ICE Make Refr hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Ortel Communications, Nirman Agri Genetics, Seya Industries, Goldstar Power and SCI hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
