Financial assistance is distributed to dialysis and cancer patients
Sankhali: Governor P. S. Sreedharan Pillai and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant distributed financial assistance to 48 dialysis and cancer patients from the Governor’s fund. The Governor also distributed the latest brain controlled myoelectric hands to needy persons by the Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, through the CSR scheme of BPCL at Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali today.
Speaking on the occasion the Governor, P. S. Sreedharan Pillai said, one earth one family and one future will pave the path for global welfare. This he said is derived from a «Bharatiya» concept Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor said, elected representatives are committed and accountable to the welfare of people and called upon them to always work for the betterment of common men. Praising the work of Chief Minister, the Governor said the Chief Minister is a visionary leader and his goal of making Goa as Swayampurna Goa will be fulfilled soon.
The Governor said, Raj Bhavan is dedicated to serve the common man and informed about the various initiatives taken up by Raj Bhavan.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant assuring to start permanent disability centre in the state soon said the motor neuron centre will be established in the state on priority, which is a long pending issue.
Highlighting the diabetes scenario in Goa, the Chief Minister, advised people to eat less sugar. He also appreciated the work of the Governor that is taken up by the Raj Bhavan.
Speaking on the occasion Subhash Faldesai complimented the work of Raj Bhavan and also appreciated the Governor’s visits to all the villages in the state.
Earlier, M.R.M. Rao, IAS, Secretary to the Governor welcomed the guests.
