41,526 students to take Class X exams

COIMBATORE: With Class X board exams starting on Thursday, 41,526 students from Coimbatore district, including 20,936 boys and 20,590 girls, are set to appear for the examination.
An official from the education department said students from 526 schools, including 388 from Coimbatore and 138 from Pollachi, will take the exams. District administration and education department officials have completed the required arrangements for conducting the board exams. Exams will be held in 157 centres across the district, of which 103 centres are in Coimbatore and 47 centres in Pollachi. Seven of these centres, including one in Pollachi, have been allotted for private students.
Officials added that teachers are reaching out to students who did not turn up for the practical exams, in attempts to bring down absenteeism in the board examinations.TNN
