THANE: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray on Wednesday attacked CM Eknath Shinde, describing his governance as "Ravan raj." Aaditya also said "this (Shinde-Fadnavis) government will not last a few months or days but a few hours," and once the MVA was back in power, "we will take account of everything."
A day after Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray and deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis were involved in a bitter exchange over the alleged attack on a UBT woman activist in Thane, Aaditya trained his focus on Shinde, mimicking him and claiming Shinde's men were bringing a bad name not just for Thane but for Fadnavis.
Aaditya was in Thane to lead a rally along with MVA allies condemning the alleged attack on UBT activist Roshani Shinde Pawar by Shinde supporters. The rally began in the evening from Talao Pali. Later, Thackeray along with a few MVA leaders met Thane CP Jaijeet Singh demanding an FIR be registered.
Speaking to the media after meeting Singh, Aaditya said, "We expected the Thane police to register a FIR but they instead slapped a case against her and are now waiting to arrest her after she is discharged... It feels as if there is Ravan raj in the state."
Earlier, addressing supporters, he questioned the silence of Shinde and challenged him to face him in a poll in his own constituency. "The present government will collapse soon and once we return to power, I promise to set up an inquiry. We don't believe in vendetta politics but I vow in front of Dighe saheb to put all those who didn't work for citizen welfare behind bars."
Responding, CM Shinde said in a democracy, anyone is allowed to contest elections from anywhere. Shinde said, "I was working as shakha pramukh when some people were not even born. Millions of Sainiks like me sacrificed their lives, that's why Shiv Sena grew. Those born with a golden spoon... there is no need to talk about those who got everything on a platter and now claim it as their own."
