HYDERABAD: A class 10 student died by suicide by jumping into a lake in Agnoor village of Yelal mandal in Vikarabad district. The deceased was identified as 16-year-old G Ramesh.
According to Yelal police, the incident happened on Monday and the body was found floating in the lake on Wednesday morning. Cops said Ramesh went missing on Monday after his Telugu SSC exam.
Initial investigation revealed that Ramesh was disappointed with his performance in the exam and feared that he might fail. He was last seen at the exam centre in Yelal by fellow students. He had shared his disappointment over his performance with them. After the boy did not return home, his family lodged a complaint with the police on Monday evening.
Cops began searching for the boy and on Wednesday morning, locals found his body floating in lake. Soon, cops were alerted who fished out the body. A case under section 174 of CrPC (unnatural death) has been registered and the body was sent to hospital for post-mortem examination.
