Four-year-old boy kidnapped from Bhiwandi rescued, accused held from Nashik road railway station

THANE: A four-year-old boy kidnapped from Thane district's Bhiwandi was rescued and a 27-year old kidnapper was arrested by Shanti Nagar police.
The accused, identified as Ripon Ali, had kidnapped the child after his mother, who was earlier in love with him had denied to leave her husband and come along with him to West Bengal.
Police caught the accused from Nashik road railway station, when he was leaving for West Bengal along with kidnapped child.
Five-years-ago, accused Ali was in love with a complainant residing in Bhiwandi. However, due to some reasons, she broke-up with Ripon and got married to another man. Later, accused wanted her to leave her husband and get settled with him at his native village in West Bengal, for which she was not ready, said police.
On Monday evening, when a four-year-old son was playing outside his house with other kids, Ripon kidnapped him and proceeded to take him towards his native place. After kidnapping the child, he called his mother asking her to come with him to his native place in West Bengal. When she refused, he boarded the train for West Bengal and told her that if she wanted her child back, she should come to his village.
Following woman's complaint about kidnapping, police formed several teams and through mobile location, they traced the train in which the accused was travelling.
"Through complainant, the team had kept accused busy over phone saying she is coming to meet him. Due to that, the accused stopped at Nashik railway station where another team reached and safely rescued child and nabbed accused," said S A Indalkar, senior police inspector of Shanti Nagar police station.
