President Draupadi Murmu confers Padma Shri award on 3 from Bihar
President Droupadi Murmu presents Padma Shri award to Anand Kumar on Wednesday
PATNA: President Draupadi Murmu conferred Padma Shri Award on three persons from Bihar at the civil investiture ceremony-I held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Wednesday. The recipients are Kapil Dev Prasad and Subhadra Devi for art and Anand Kumar for literature and education.

Kapil Dev Prasad, a traditional handloom weaver from Baswan Bigha village in Nalanda district, was honoured for his contribution in keeping the Buddhist 'Bavan Buti' weaving art alive with his works on bed sheets and saris.
Over the years, he has also trained thousands of weavers in the art form. Subhadra Devi, also known as the 'Mother of Madhubani Paper Mache Art', was presented with the Padma Shri for using waste paper to make utility and decorative items.

A resident of Salempur village in Madhubani district , Subhadra learned this art in childhood by seeing elders in her family. She still continues to work on this art form. The founder of Super 30, Anand Kumar, received this prestigious award for 'Literature and Education'.
Anand Kumar, founder of Super 30, has dedicated his life to providing free education to underprivileged children and helping them prepare for entrance exams of prestigious educational institutions.
