Panaji: Staff of primary and community health centres that received certificates under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) were felicitated by health secretary Arun Kumar Mishra, on Thursday.
The primary health centre (PHC) at Dharbandora scored the highest (95.7%) among all centres in the state.
Under the ‘Pedal for Work’ activity, a cycle was presented to sister Nirmala Tople of Dharbandora PHC. She has covered more than 5,000 km by cycling.
Other health staff who take up critical jobs were gifted smartwatches.
Mishra lauded the health services for its continuous efforts in improving services.
“Goa has one of the best medical systems in the country. It is possible to elevate the standards of performance through collective effort,” Mishra said.
Director of health services Dr Geeta Kakodkar said that with state government support, the department will achieve many more milestones.
