On the other hand, Gland Pharma(down 0.59 per cent), Laurus(down 0.41 per cent), Cipla(down 0.27 per cent), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(down 0.23 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 0.21 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.76 per cent up at 12274.35.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 42.1 points at 17599.15, while the BSE Sensex stood up 143.66 points at 59832.97.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 0 ended in the green, while 0 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Energy Exchg, BHEL and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Srivasavi Adhesive Tapes Ltd., DRS Dilip Roadlines, MCON Rasayan India, Ksolves India and Career Point hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Shri Ram Switchgears, Nirman Agri Genetics, Latteys Industries, Seya Industries and Goldstar Power hit their fresh 52-week lows.
