Man arrested after hours-long standoff with Kaukauna police

KAUKAUNA – Police arrested a man in Kaukauna Thursday morning after an hours-long incident.

Kaukauna Police Department officers made initial contact with the 42-year-old man around 3 a.m. in the 1400 block of Crooks Avenue. According to police, there was a felony warrant for his arrest.

While officers were communicating with the man, he fled the scene in his vehicle. A short chase ensued, and police say they used tire deflation devices on the man's vehicle.

The pursuit ended when the man's truck stopped in the median on County CE near Fieldcrest Drive. Police sent out a news release around 6:30 a.m. asking people to avoid the area.

As law enforcement responded to the scene, they believed the man was "armed and dangerous," according to the department.
