Cincinnati No. 2 market for NCAA Tournament television ratings

The television ratings are in for the 2023 NCAA Tournament, and Cincinnati came in second behind Louisville as the top local market across the entire tournament.

According to Austin Karp of Sports Business Journal, Louisville finished first with a 13.3 rating, followed by Cincinnati with 11.4 and Indianapolis with 11.1. Dayton finished seventh with 9.1 and Columbus finished in a tie for eighth with 8.7.

Louisville and Cincinnati were third and fourth overall for local rating for the NCAA championship game that saw Connecticut defeat San Diego State, falling behind only those school's markets.

The first round of this year's tournament reached record ratings, however later rounds saw the numbers drop, which is potentially attributed to the lack of marquee schools advancing.
