Mizoram's urban development department bags award for best show
AIZAWL: Mizoram's urban development and poverty alleviation department bagged the prestigious SPARK Award under DAY-National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM), carrying a cash prize of Rs 10 crore, an official statement said on Tuesday.
The ministry of urban and housing affairs (MoHUA) selected the best performing states, which completed the targeted schemes under the DAY-NULM on annual basis, based on Systematic Progressive Analytical Real Time Ranking (SPARK), an official statement said.
The award was initiated during 2019-2020 fiscal and named as SPARK Award and MoHUA provided cash incentive awards. Mizoram falls under the 'North East and Himalayan Range', comprising nine states.
The state had bagged the second rank in 2019-2020 and also the same position in 2020-2021 financial year and had already received Rs 6 crore as performance incentive award.
After consideration of different yardsticks under the DAY-NULM, the state ranked first for the SPARK Award during 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 by the MoHUA on March 31.
