Differently abled woman raped, probe on

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru city police have launched a search for an accused who allegedly sexually assaulted a middled aged differently-abled woman. City police commissioner Kuldeep Kumar R Jain said the incident took place on March 28 but came to light three days back. The accused, aged around 60-65, has been identified and is known to the survivor. A preliminary investigation revealed that he has abandoned his family. His mobile phone was switched off after the incident.
Sources said the incident reportedly took place when the survivor was alone at home. A police team has already interacted with the survivor and the case is under investigation.
Man held for illegal possession of gun
A man was arrested on Monday for allegedly possessing a pistol illegally and a live round at his rented accommodation here. The arrested is Shishir, 29, an event management employee. Shishir was living in a rented house in East Police limits and he was arrested after the house owner complained about the pistol being held by Shishir. He was staying in the house for the last five months. During interrogation, the man told police that the pistol was given to him by a friend. TNN
