Vadodara: Minister of state for home Harsh Sanghavi on Tuesday said that strict action will be taken against those who have fled from the city and are hiding after pelting stones during Ram Navami processions.
Sanghavi, who was in the city on Tuesday, said stone pelting during the processions that were passing peacefully was a very serious issue. “We had said on the same day that strict action will be taken before midnight and you would have seen what we did,” Sanghavi told reporters.
“Our state has become number one with a lot of hard work. Eid or Diwali are never celebrated with a divided society here. We saw CCTV as well as footage provided by the media,” Sanghavi told reporters. “Those who have fled the city and gone into hiding will be eventually traced and action will be taken against each and every such person,” he added. Two different incidents of stone pelting were reported in the city on March 30. The city police have made a series of arrests for the rioting. A separate offence was registered against a VHP leader for making a hate speech and he was also arrested.
