Renowned Bidriware artist from Karnataka, Rasheed Ahmed Quadri, said that he had been trying to get the Padma Shri award for the last 10 years and had lost hope of getting one after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government came to power. Quadri is among the eight personalities from Karnataka to receive the award this year.
