Petrol pump owner cheated of 13 lakh
Rajkot: A petrol pump dealer near Wankaner town was cheated of Rs 13 lakh lakh by two crooks who lured him with huge amounts of diesel supply for ground levelling work at the Hirasar airport on Rajkot-Ahmedabad highway. A complaint was registered with the Wankaner Taluka police station against two accused.
According to the complaint registered by Manvendrasinh Jadeja, a dealer of a public sector oil marketing company, who has his pump on Wankaner boundary, a few days ago two men approached him identifying themselves as Manish Sharma and Raj Thakor and posing as contractors at the under construction Hirasar airport.
The duo told Jadeja that they were engaged in ground levelling work of the airport and needed a huge amount of diesel on credit for 10 days to run the excavator machine. They also provided him a letterhead of their company along with a blank cheque of a bank. The thugs also provided a photocopy of an Aadhaar card belonging to one Deepak Kumar, but could not give GST certificate and PAN card details as demanded by Jadeja.
Thereafter, these people took around 14,010 litre diesel in 10 days valued Rs 12.91 lakh and disappeared.
Jadeja somehow contacted the contractor's office in Gwalior whose letterhead was used and he was shocked to know that the contractor had closed his business a long time ago and old letterheads of his defunct company were still being used to cheat him.
Thereafter, he approached the police.
