NAGPUR: The Maha Vikas Aghadi’s (MVA) second Vajramooth rally on April 16 in the city would discuss issues like ex-MP Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification and the BJP-Shiv Sena government’s misgovernance in the nine months of its tenure.
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and MPCC president Nana Patole would be present in the rally to be held at the NIT ground in Darshan Colony near KDK College of Engineering.
Former ministers Sunil Kedar and Satish Chaturvedi said the rally would break all records and would be bigger than that in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. “The rally is not being organized keeping elections in mind. We will be raising issues like unemployment, rising inflation, poverty and farmers that are affecting people of India in general and Maharashtra in particular. All the three MVA constituents — Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena (UBT) — are geared up for the rally,” they said.
The rally in the city would be organized by the Congress as Vidarbha. The Sambhaji Nagar event was organized by Sena (UBT) which has a strong presence there.
Congress has appointed its elected representatives who will conduct meetings of activists across eastern Vidarbha and also interact with the media. MP Balu Dhanorkar will take care of Wardha, district chief Rajendra Mulak Chandrapur, MLC Abhijit Wanjari Gadchiroli, while former minister Vijay Wadettiwar has been assigned Bhandara and Gondia districts.
