Florida man robs woman after threatening to hit her in the head with big, blue Bible, JSO says

UPDATE: At around 3:26 p.m., an officer with Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was flagged down in the area of Broad Street and Monroe Street. A woman told the officer that she had been robbed.

She said that a man approached her at a nearby bus stop and demanded her bag. He threatened to hit her in the head with a big, blue Bible.

He snatched her bag and fled on foot.

Police were able to locate the suspect within a block of where the robbery took place. He was taken into custody.

Robbery detectives assisted patrol in the investigation.
