NEW DELHI: Deepak Boxer, who was
nabbed by the Delhi Police in Mexico, was
brought to the Delhi airport on Wednesday.
"It was a great achievement and a very important operation.
There is no other bigger gangster in Delhi-NCR than him," HGS Dhaliwal, special commissioner of police (CP), Special Cell said.
Deepak Boxer's entry to crime world: How it all started- In 2014-15, Deepak, a resident of Gannaur in Haryana, stepped into the criminal world after he met a criminal named Mohit.
- Mohit was associated with Jitender Maan, who was also known as Gogi, one of the most notorious gangsters in Delhi during that time.
- Due to his boxing background, Deepak became earned the name ‘Boxer’.
- In 2016, Deepak's involvement in the criminal world became apparent when he and Mohit headed a gang of 10 individuals that assisted Gogi in escaping while he was being transported from Rohini jail in Delhi to a court in Sonipat.
- In 2017, Deepak was released from the jail on bail, but he continued his criminal activities.
- He was charged with the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) by the Delhi Police in 2018 after he became a prominent member of Gogi's gang.
- On March 25, 2021, Deepak led a group that engaged in a gunfire exchange with Delhi Police officers at GTB Hospital. Deepak also assisted in the escape of Fajja, an associate of Gogi, from police custody.
- Boxer was heading the erstwhile Gogi gang after the former kingpin, Jitender Gogi, was killed inside the Rohini court complex in September 2021. Deepak coordinated with other individuals involved in criminal activities, including Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar, and Kala Jatheri.
- Boxer had been searching for a builder named Amit Gupta from Delhi's Civil Lines area.
- In September 2022, Boxer took to Facebook and claimed responsibility for the builder's murder.
- In his Facebook post, Boxer alleged that the builder had ties with the Tillu Tajpuria gang, which is a known enemy of the Gogi gang.
- Boxer further claimed that Gupta was actually funding the rival gang.
