Ensure Raj Bhavan’s nod before taking leave, VCs told
Daltonganj: Unauthorised leaves by officers and staffs have become a matter of concern for Nilamber Pitamber University in Daltonganj due to lack of biometric recording of attendance, authorities said.
The biometric attendance halted in 2020 in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic is yet to be resumed. Recently, the university shifted to its own multi-crore building where they are facing several problems.
Proctor K C Jha said, "Right now, there is no biometric attendance system for anyone in the institute. Efforts are on to install biometric machine at the new administrative building.”
Sources in the Raj Bhavan said the chancellor of the state universities C P Radhakrishnan is also concerned about absenteeism of the VCs and other officers of universities.
VCs of state universities have been directed to seek permission from the Raj Bhavan before going on leave, the source said.
