The police have now booked the two minor accused under Sections 302 (murder), 364 (kidnapping in order to murder), 363 (kidnapping) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. (File) The Pimpri Chinchwad police Tuesday nabbed two minor boys for allegedly murdering a 17-year-old girl, who was reportedly in a relationship with one of the two accused, in suspicion that she had befriended another boy.
An offence of murder was lodged in this case. The police said the girl had gone missing on April 1. Her family informed the police and initially filed a missing report. The police later lodged a kidnapping case as per procedure.
When a search was launched to trace her, her body was found on the terrace of an under-construction building near her residence. The police said the girl was attacked with a sharp weapon. Later police found out that the two accused boys had called the girl on her mobile phone before the murder.
The police then detained the boys for questioning on Tuesday. A police officer who is investigating the case said, “One the accused was angry because he suspected that the girl had made a new boyfriend. So, he asked her to meet him and when she did so, she was attacked by the boy and his friend with a sharp weapon, causing her death. The boys fled from the crime scene after the murder.”
The officer added that earlier, one of the boys had got the girl pregnant and a case was filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The boy was out on bail. “Both the accused boys are around 17-year-old,” said the officer.
