What is Growth Hormone Deficiency?
Growth hormone deficiency occurs when the pituitary gland does not produce enough of the hormone, causing children to be short in height. The pituitary organ secretes growth hormones. When there is a decrease in the secretion of growth hormones, it produces short stature or growth deficiency in the infant, which causes certain symptoms.
Its symptoms and treatment
The symptoms are slow growth, Short stature (below the fifth percentile compared to other children of the same age and sex), Absent or delayed sexual development during puberty and severe headaches.
The treatment suggested is under the guidance of a paediatric endocrinologist, growth hormone deficiency can be treated with synthetic growth hormone. If other hormones are deficient, synthetic growth hormones can be administered in addition to them.
(The information about the syndrome and its symptoms and treatment are an overall based study, it could be different for each patient.)
