Jamshedpur: A 36-year-old manager of Bank of India died by suicide at his Ambedkar Nagar home under Bagbera police station limits in Jamshedpur on Tuesday, police said. He was unhappy with his recent posting at the Kalikapur branch in Potka, family members told police. Preliminary investigation revealed that he was stressed due to frequent fights with his wife, police added. A probe has been launched, Bagbera police station in-charge K K Jha said.
4 students die, 2 injured as bikes collide
Hazaribag: Four students died and two others were seriously injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles at Dohar Nagar area under the Barkagaon Police Station limits in the district on Monday evening, police said on Tuesday. They were returning to their homes after their intermediate examinations. Three students died on the spot, while one breathed his last on way to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims), Barkagaon SDPO Amit Kumar Singh said. Two more students were grievously injured in the accident. Three of the deceased were identified as Md Shamir (20), Sahil alias Nepali (18), and Dilip Kumar Thakur (20), all residents of Barkagaon. The identity of another deceased, aged around 18, could not be ascertained, the officer said.
E S’bhum trader held at Odisha airport with ganja
Bhubaneswar: A trader from East Singhbhum was arrested at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Odisha on Tuesday for allegedly carrying ganja worth Rs 70. “The passenger, identified as Prakash Kumar Singh (28), was scheduled to catch a flight to Delhi. During security check, he was found to have concealed 11 gm of ganja, worth around Rs 70, and a smoking pipe inside his underwear. As per the NDPS Act, the transportation and possession of ganja is a punishable offence,” a police official said.
