On the other hand, Persistent Systems(down 1.65 per cent), Infosys(down 1.2 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd(down 0.42 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(down 0.18 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.23 per cent down at 28633.0.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 38.3 points at 17398.05, while the BSE Sensex stood up 114.92 points at 59106.44.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 ended in the green, while 15 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Rail Vikas Nigam, Suzlon Energy and GMR Infra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of SML Isuzu, Systango Technologie, TTK Healthcare, Technocraft Ind and Asian Hotels hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vikas Proppant & Gr, Eastern Silk, Nirman Agri Genetics, ART Nirman and Seya Industries hit their fresh 52-week lows.
