Rs 25,000 bounty on former BJP corporator Umesh Sawant

KOLHAPUR: The Sangli police have placed a bounty of Rs 25,000 on former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator Umesh Sawant, who is a suspect in former corporator Vijay Tad’s murder.
The murder of Tad, the former corporator of the Jat Muncipal Council, took place on March 17. Sawant has been absconding since the crime took place. The exact reason behind the murder is still a mystery, but the cops claim prima facie that political rivalry was the triggering point.
