With the launch of Android 12L in late 2021, Google promised to bring better app support for large-screen Android devices like foldable smartphones and tablets. Since then, the company has been improving its first-party apps to better support big-screen devices. Now, the company has released a new Google Keep feature that makes it more productivity friendly.

Google Keeps gets a productivity-enhancing feature in the form of side-by-side notes

Google Keep Side By Side Notes

As spotted by 9To5Google, the latest version of the Google Keep app for Android allows you to open a note in a new window. It is different than the dual-pane design the app received a few months ago. The new feature essentially allows you to open two notes on the screen side by side. You can use this feature to compare things between notes or use one note as a reference for the other. You can also use it to better organize your notes. The possibilities are endless with the side-by-side window feature. This feature will roll out to compatible foldable phones and tablets over the next few weeks.

Google Keep is now very feature-rich, offering users the ability to create notes and lists, format the text, add background colors or wallpapers, and share notes with others for collaboration. With the side-by-side window feature, it will help users in improving their productivity. It also offers location and time/date-based reminders. It even has an app for WearOS-based smartwatches like the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5.

Samsung, too, has been adding multi-pane designs for its stock apps since the release of the Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 software. The company released various new features for its first-party apps and made them tablet-friendly over the past year or so.
