Allianz Group named Nadia Côté as commercial managing director UK, effective 1 May.

Allianz Group unveiled Allianz Commercial last month, featuring an integrated approach for Allianz Global Corporateand Specialty and mid-sized country-based accounts with one model around the world. Côté will lead the new approach in the UK.

A spokesperson confirmed to Insurance Age that this appointment will not cause any changes to the wider UK management team that interacts with brokers.

In her newly created role, Côté, pictured, will report to Joachim Mueller, AGCS chief executive, and Colm Holmes, chief executive of Allianz Holdings UK.

Experience

With more than 25 years’ experience in corporate insurance, Côté has been with Allianz since May 2022, when she joined as regional managing director for London & Nordics with AGCS.

Prior to this, she was head of major accounts at Chubb Europe, and before that, she was country president for Chubb Europe in France for seven years.

She started her insurance career as financial lines underwriter at AIG then later at Chubb.

Holmes said: “Allianz Commercial is all about our brokers and clients and making it as easy as possible for them to engage with us. Nadia is expertly positioned to lead our UK teams, presenting one face to market across commercial – keeping the trusted relationships and local know-how that our brokers and clients value, while providing global support and expertise.”

Other regions

Allianz has also confirmed leaders in Australia, France and Germany.

The Allianz Commercial business in Australia will be led by Phuong Ly as chief general manager.

In France, the commercial business will be led by Frédéric Baccelli as deputy country managing director and in Germany, Hans-Joerg Mauthe was named commercial managing director.

Member of the Allianz SE board of management, Chris Townsend, said: “The appointment of the regional leaders in our core Allianz Commercial markets is an important, concrete step toward realising our new integrated model, which brings together our mid corporate and large corporate insurance business for the benefit of our clients and distribution partners.

“As one face to the market, these leaders will represent the full Allianz offering to companies across the entire commercial spectrum and will drive the effective local delivery of our global capabilities.”
