PATNA: The CPI-ML on Sunday held a protest meeting in front of Buddha Smriti Park to oppose the incidents of communal frenzy reported from certain parts of the state. The leaders appealed to the masses from trouble-torn areas to help maintain communal harmony.
Addressing the meeting, the speakers accused the BJP of trying to do politics of “communal polarization” in view of the 2024 LS elections approaching closer. “The visit of Union home minister Amit Shah to the state is only a part of this conspiracy,” CPI-ML legislature party leader in the state assembly, Mehboob Alam alleged.
Alam said the BJP was feeling terrified after being ousted from power in the state and also flayed the state government for not showing the kind of promptness in tackling the “frenzied forces”. He said the politics of hatred and division won’t be tolerated in any circumstances. Earlier, holding a press conference, CPI-ML leaders Alam, party whip Arun Singh and Phulwari legislator Gopal Ravidas sought an investigation into the role of local MLA and SP in Biharsharif. The trio alleged the Muslim youths were being targeted by the local administration there.
