Honey trapping and extortion: Influencer arrested, youth Congress leader booked in Ludhiana

LUDHIANA: The Model Town police on Monday arrested Mohali based social media influencer Jasneet Kaur alias Rajvir Kaur, in a case of seeking extortion from a Ludhiana based businessman Gurbir Singh after honey trapping him.
The police have also nominated a youth congress leader from Sahnewal, Lucky Sandhu in this case on Monday.
The accused had made extortion calls to the complainant Gurbir, whose father was a Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) councilor following which the Model Town police on Sunday lodged an FIR against Jasneet and her two unidentified accomplices.
Importantly, earlier in September 2022 also, the accused woman had sought Rs 2 crore extortion from Gurbir by threatening to release their conversation. The deal was struck at Rs 35 Lakh. Gurbid had given Rs 1 Lakh to the accused. When the accused woman and her accomplice met Gurbir to get the remaining amount, the Kharar police arrested them.
However, now again, Jasneet with the help of her accomplices tried to extort money from Gurbir Singh.
Sub-inspector Gurshinder Kaur, SHO, Model Town police station said the police have arrested social media influencer Jasneet Kaur in the extortion case. After her arrest the police have nominated her accomplice Lucky Sandhu of Sahnewal in the case.
