Indian-origin data analyst dies after being hit by bus at US airport
Kolla is survived by his wife and two sons.

Indian-American data analyst was killed in an accident after a bus hit him at the Logan international airport in US’s Boston while he was waiting for his friend. The deceased, identified as Vishwachand Kolla, had gone to pick up a friend when the mishap happened.
Kolla was originally from Andhra Pradesh. He was working with Takeda Pharmaceutical Company. According to the reports, he was at the US Airport in Boston to pick up a visiting musician traveling to Boston when he met with an accident.
The 47-year-old Kolla, according to State Police spokesperson Dave Procopio, was standing on the driver’s side of his Acura Vehicle while the Dartmouth Transportation motor coach was simultaneously traveling on the roadway. Based on the investigation, Kolla was dragged along the driver’s side of his SUV until the middle of the bus made contact with him.

An off-duty rushed to the spot to help Kolla but he died on the spot. The 54-year-old woman was driving the bus. The police have inspected the bus and have not yet arrested the woman. The passengers were quickly rushed off the bus and their luggage was moved to another part of the airport.
Meanwhile, Kolla’s relatives have set up a gofundme page for USD 406,151 raised of the USD 750,000 goal. Kolla is survived by his wife and two sons.

NCERT removes chapters on Mughal Empire from Class 12 History syllabus, check the list of chapters removed
The revised syllabus will apply to all boards including CBSE, UP, and other state boards by the NCERT curriculum which will come to effect from the academic year 2023-24.

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) eliminated chapters on Mughal Empire from the Class 12 History curriculum. Moreover, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) also confirmed that it will revise Class 10, 11, and 12.
The revised syllabus will apply to all boards including CBSE, UP, and other state boards by the NCERT curriculum which will come to effect from the academic year 2023-24. The chapter removed by the NCERT are related to Kings and Chronicles; the Mughal Courts (C. 16th and 17th centuries) and from the history book Theme of Indian History-Part II.
Apart from History, the Class 12 Civics book has also been revised and chapters including US hegemony in world politics and The Cold War Era have been removed and chapters like Rise of popular movements and Era of one-part dominance have been eliminated from Class 12 Politics in India since Independence textbook.

Other chapters removed from the Class 12 History textbooks are Akbarnama, the official chronicle of the reign of Akbar, Badshah Nama, the chronicle of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, the composition of manuscripts, Mughal rulers and their empire, ideal states, colour illustrations, capitals and courts, gifts and presents, titles, royal family, Mughal elite, royal bureaucracy, information and empire, borders.
Following the NCERT curriculum, the UPBSE also announced that the syllabus for Classes 10, 11, and 12. Secretary Divyakant Shukla said the updated UP Board Syllabus 2023-24 will be released on the official website.

Bihar man dies, cousin injured in assault by unidentified attackers in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia
A Bihar resident died while his cousin sustained grievous injuries after the duo was reportedly assaulted by unidentified attackers in Sukhpura area of Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh, officials said on Monday.

According to the police, the victims, Pritam Pathak and his cousin Nishu, were returning home late on Sunday night when they were intercepted by the assailants near the Van Bihar turn and viciously beaten.
The cousins sustained critical injuries in the assault and were rushed to Ballia district hospital where doctors declared Pritam dead on arrival, while his cousin, Nishu suffered a grave head injury and is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
An official said that on receiving information about the incident, a police team including Additional Superintendent of Police Durga Prasad Tiwari and other senior officers, arrived at the scene and rushed the two victims to the district hospital.
Circle Officer Rajesh Kumar Tiwari said the two victims, Pritam and his cousin Nishu, aged between 20 and 25 years are residents of Dumraon village in Bihar’s Buxar district and were returning home after visiting their aunt’s house when they were attacked, adding that Pritam’s body has been sent for post mortem and further details are awaited.
Nishu, who survived the attack, told newsmen at the district hospital that Pritam and himself were suddenly pounced upon by around 30-40 unidentified attackers who brutally thrashed them for no apparent reason.
Pritam’s aunt Savitri said the two young men had reached the highway after visiting her house in the evening when the incident took place.
A senior police official said a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), has been registered against the attackers and further investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the assault and to identify and arrest the unidentified assailants.
Further details are awaited, he said.

A horrific incident has come to light from Jammu and Kashmir where a man killed his 8-year-old daughter after she failed his plan to commit suicide. Police have arrested the accused Mohammad Iqbal Khatana on murder charges.
During the interrogation, Iqbal, who is a driver by profession, confessed to having killed his daughter after she came in the way of his plan to die by suicide. The gruesome killing is reported from Khurhama village in the Lolab area of Srinagar’s Kupwara district.
The official said Iqbal and his wife had an ugly fight following which he had left home with a knife. Iqbal’s daughter, one of four siblings, followed him and got into his vehicle when he tried to drive away.

According to the official, for about 45 minutes, Iqbal tried to persuade his daughter to leave and also gave her Rs 10 to buy candies but she refused to go. Yogul Manhas, Senior Superintendent Of Police, Kupwara, said Iqbal kept thinking all the time that how he would take the drastic step in the presence of her daughter.
In a fit of rage, he then strangled her, slit her throat and dumped the body in a firewood storage shed, and later went home, Manhas said. When the family asked him about the girl, he denied that she was accompanying him. Police said at least four people had seen the girl accompanying Iqbal.
Not only this but when the family confronted him about the girl, Iqbal went to the police station to file a missing report. But by the time he returned from the police station, the family and relatives had recovered the body from the firewood storage shed, the SSP said.
During the investigation, he confessed his crime after which he has been arrested.
