Take free metro to Chennai's MA Chidambaram stadium, watch IPL live at five stations
CMRL has tied up with an IPL team Chennai Super Kings to provide free metro train travel on all match days in the city in April and May
CHENNAI: Cricket fans heading to the MA Chidambaram stadium to watch the IPL matches can travel in metro trains for free or catch the action live on large screens put up at five metro stations.
CMRL has tied up with an IPL team Chennai Super Kings to provide free metro train travel on all match days in the city in April and May. Passengers will have to produce their QR barcode of IPL tickets to travel to the Government Estate metro, which is closest to the stadium. They can show the same ticket to return. Feeder buses will be at the station to take fans to the stadium and back. Metro train services will be extended by 90minutes during the match days. Apart from this, large LED screen would be put up at five metro stations - Nandanam, Vadapalani, Wimco Nagar, Thirumangalam and Central Metro - to watch the matches live at 10 per hour.
