16-yr-old girl alleges rape by Insta ‘friend’

Ludhiana: A youth allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl he befriended on Instagram on Friday. An FIR was registered after the girl told her family members about it. She met the accused, whose age is not clear yet, two months ago. The complainant, her father, said that she had been upset for the past few days. He said that when he asked her about it, she said that she came across the accused on Instagram about two months ago. On March 12, she said that he asked her to meet him. When she reached the place agreed upon, he allegedly took her to a vacant plot and raped her. She also said that he warned her against telling anyone. The investigating officer said that the girl does not know where the accused lives. Police are taking the help of a technical support team to trace the accused. tnn
