Lucknow records 2nd highest April rain in 8 years

LUCKNOW: Light to moderate rain/thundershower occurred at many places over the state with isolated heavy rain in some areas from midnight till early Saturday. Hailstorm occurred at isolated places over the state. Lucknow recorded the second highest rainfall in eight years in the month of April.
According to the state met department, the cyclonic circulations responsible for the change in weather conditions have weakened. As a result, rainfall activity has declined across the state from Saturday afternoon. Similar, conditions will continue for the next few days.
Bareilly recorded 80 mm rainfall, heaviest in the state, followed by Bahraich and Barabanki 70 mm each and Rampur, Kheri and Etah 40 mm each. In Lucknow, the met observatory at Amausi recorded 16 mm rainfall. Earlier, 25.8 mm rainfall was recorded on April 22, 2021 and 19.6 mm on April 11, 2015. The rainfall also varied from one place to another. The rain gauge at Hanuman Setu recorded 20.3 mm rainfall, while the one at Malihabad recorded 40 mm. The maximum temperature in the city on Saturday was 28.5 degrees Celsius, 1.5 units below normal and minimum temperature was 18.1 degrees Celsius, 0.4 units below normal.
