LUDHIANA: The district Congress party on Saturday in a meeting decided to hold a massive rally against the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Union government, protesting the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from the Parliament.
District Congress president Sanjay Talwar held a day-long meeting where halka in-charge Surinder Dabur, Rakesh Pandey, Ishwarjot Singh Cheema, the block heads and party workers were present. The senior leadership also handed over various responsibilities to the workers to make the rally a success.
Addressing the workers, leaders said that the BJP-led central government was trying to “suppress the truth”, of which Rahul Gandhi was also a “victim”. They alleged the Modi government was giving undue benefits to capitalists by misusing power, and asked everyone to come forward in support of Rahul Gandhi.
