Tesla tops deliveries expectations with 422,875 cars moved in Q1

Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) reported on Sunday that it delivered 422,875 vehicles in Q1 to edge past the consensus expectation for 421.2K deliveries. The quarterly tally included 412,180 Model 3/Model Y vehicles and 10,695 Model S/Model X vehicles.
The electric vehicle maker produced 440,808 vehicles during the quarter. Both the production and delivery numbers were subject to an operating lease accounting shift of 5%.
"We continued to transition towards a more even regional mix of vehicle builds, including Model S/X vehicles in transit to EMEA and APAC," noted the company on the production strategy.
Tesla (TSLA) plans to report full Q1 earnings results on April 19 and has an earnings conference call scheduled for 4:30 p.m. that day.
